The Barton College Esports team is awaiting the fast-approaching season which kicks off in just under a few weeks. The League of Legends team has been in full force competing in the monthly Clash tournaments, competing for a chance to earn different rewards. The two-day event took place on September 5-6 and according to freshman, League of Legends player, Mitchell Mckittrick, it was good practice for the upcoming season.
The team was able to come away with a win and will look to keep carrying this momentum into the upcoming season. “Since I had a formal team it felt a lot more competitive and interesting since this was our first-team experience,” said Mckittrick. The first-year team member was excited about the opportunity to compete with teammates and try new tactics, gameplay styles, and strategies to see which will hold up during the season.
Mckittrick, a native of Apex, North Carolina, is looking forward to competing at the collegiate level for the first time. “I want to get to know my teammates, get to know their play styles, and try to work with them on trying to figure out those successful strategies,” said Mckittrick.
As the Bulldogs continue preparation for the 2020 season, which will take place in the coming weeks, players will be tested and competing against some of the top talent in the country for a chance to win a variety of prizes.
